She founded CoryWest Media, LLC, in 1990. Named after her mother and grandmother, the marketing and public relations consultancy was first headquartered in Oak Park and relocated to Glen Ellyn in 1996, the same year CoryWest’s first website went live. A communications visionary, Barbara’s client list includes Fortune 50 companies, global consultancies, non-profits and local businesses. Her teaching engagements include marketing execution 301 at The Non-Profit Academy for Excellence at the College of DuPage. In 2007, Barbara produced “Ultimate PR Secrets,” one of the first ever virtual public relations seminars delivered via a series of teleseminars. Recognized for her new marketing and PR passions, Barbara’s blog – Wired PR Works – is mentioned in David Meerman Scott’s Book “The New Rules of Marketing & PR.” Wired PR Works ranked at #60 on the World Wide PR Power Bloggers list. A recent comment on her blog came from Hungary, where her grandparents were born. A professional speaker, Barbara’s presentations include a “Business and Blogging” seminar, first delivered in September 2004. A member of the United Methodist Church, Barbara chairs her church’s administrative council. Married to Bruce, a 73 time marathoner and mountain climber, Barbara is the mother of Phoebe, a college student; Peter, a high school student and Warren, a junior high student.
